RED WINE PUNCH

Red Wine Punch image

This is a good punch that people seem to like, even those that don't care for red wine. The prep time does not include the chill time for the punch or the freezing of the ice ring if using one. (You can also use the recipe for wine coolers.)

SPICED RED WINE PUNCH

Spiced Red Wine Punch image

Wonderful punch for a holiday cocktail party. The Holiday Spice Syrup recipe makes 3 cups and can be refrigerated for up to 1 week. The left overs can be used in a great drink recipe: December Stormy #146719 Recipe is by Eben Klemm, the supremely creative bar manager and mixologist at Pico, New York's most elegant Portuguese restaurant. Punch needs to stand at room temperature for 1 hour before serving.

2 sticks cinnamon, crushed into pieces
24 cloves
Skin of 2 limes, cut into about 20 strips

  • Combine the lukewarm syrup with the red wine and transfer the mixture to wine bottles or large glass jars. Refrigerate and serve over ice with a small wedge of lime per serving.

RUBY RED WINE PUNCH

Ruby Red Wine Punch image

My parents served a similar punch at their 25th wedding anniversary party. They used my father's homemade Sparkling Burgundy. This is very good, so if you have guests under 21 or who don't imbibe, be sure to make some with one of the dealcoholized red wines. Sutter Home Fre has some good ones.
