- First, mix the shoyu, sugar, ginger, garlic, and Kirin sake in a bowl. Place the bowl to the side, this is your Beef Hekka sauce.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a frying pan (or a wok) on high. Reduce heat to medium, and stir-fry beef and Maui onions together. When the meat is 1/2 cooked, add in the bamboo shoots, yam threads, green onions, and mushrooms. Continue to stir-fry all the ingredients together, and slowly start to pour in your hekka sauce. Continue to stir all the ingredients together for a few minutes, and take the pan off the burner once all is heated. Serve over steamed calrose white rice and enjoy!!
