YORKSHIRE PUDDING AND DUMPLINGS Recipe - (5/5) image

Number Of Ingredients 12

YORKSHIRE PUDDING
1 cup of milk
1 cup flour
2 eggs
1/4 tsp salt
Dumplings for Stew
2 cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 Tbsp shortening
1 egg (if desired)
3/4 cup milk

Steps:

  • YORKSHIRE PUDDING Mix salt and flour, add milk gradually to make a smooth paste (beating with egg beater) add eggs and beat 2 minutes. Have muffin pans hissing hot with butter or beef drippings. Pour batter into pan and bake in hot oven 450 degrees for 20-30 minutes. Decrease heat as baking is accomplished. DUMPLINGS Sift all ingredients twice into a bowl then add 2 Tbsp shortening. Mix with blender. Make a well in the centre of dry ingredients and add ¾ cup milk. Add 1 egg if desired. Mix well and drop into hot stew. Simmer for about 15 to 20 minutes.
