White Chicken Pizza image

This is new addition to my recipe box. Very tasty and simple. I gave this to my neighbor and she loved it! Although it probably violated any number of dietary restrictions she is on. Who can I share my creations with?

1 Tbsp olive oil
1/2 lb boneless chicken breast, cut in bite sized pieces
1 tsp italian seasoning, crushed
1 clove garlic, thinly sliced or minced
1 pkg prepared pizza crust (i like extra thin)
1/2 c prego flavored with savory bacon alfredo sauce
1/2 c shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 c grated parmesan cheese
1/2 c jarred roasted red peppers, rinsed, drained and chopped
1/4 c thinly sliced fresh basil leaves

Steps:

  • 1. Heat the oven to 450F.
  • 2. Heat the oil in a 10 inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until well browned and cooked through, stirring occasionally. Add 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning and the garlic and cook and stir for 1 minutes.
  • 3. Place the pizza crust onto a baking sheet or pizza pan. Spread the sauce on the crust to within 1/2-inch of the edge. Layer with the chicken mixture, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese and peppers. Sprinkle with the remaining Italian seasoning.
  • 4. Bake for 15 minutes or until the cheeses are melted. Sprinkle with the basil, if desired.
  • 5. Easy Substitution: For White Shrimp Pizza, substitute 1/2 pound uncooked shrimp (31 to 40 count per pound), peeled, deveined and chopped, for the chicken. In Step 1, cook the shrimp for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning and the garlic and cook and stir for 1 minutes or until the shrimp are cooked through. Proceed as directed above.
