WHISKEY CAKE image

Cake: 1 box of yellow cake mix, 1 3 1/2oz. package of instant vanilla pudding, 1 c chopped pecans (optional), 1/2 c vegetable oil, 4 large eggs, and 1/2 c whiskey.
Glaze: 1/4c butter, 1/4c water, 1 1/2 c sugar, 1 c whiskey.

Steps:

  • Prepare a bundt pan with grease and flour. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine all cake ingredients and bake for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean. In a medium sauce pan combine butter, water, and sugar, and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in whiskey slowly. Let stand for 5-10 minutes while cake cools before pouring the glaze. (For an even stronger taste, use a straw to punch holes in the cake once cooled. This way when you pour the glaze, it soaks through the cake in patches).
