Vieux Carré image

Named for the French Quarter of New Orleans, this classic cocktail is complex and boozy. It's made with rye whiskey, cognac, Bénédictine, and bitters.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 oz. rye whiskey (we recommend Angel's Envy Rum-Finished Rye)
1 oz. cognac
1 oz. sweet vermouth
1 tsp. Bénédictine
2 dashes Angostura bitters
2 dashes Peychaud's bitters
Garnish: lemon twist

Steps:

  • Combine rye, cognac, Bénédictine, Angostura, and Peychaud's in a mixing glass and fill with ice. Stir until well chilled. Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass and garnish with lemon twist.
