Steps:
- Allow butter and eggs to stand at room tempature for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, grease and lightly flour 10 inch fluted tube pan. In a medium bowl stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl beat butter with mixer on low to medium speed for about 30 seconds. Add sugar and vanilla; beat until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating at low speed after each addition and scraping bowl alot. Add flour mixture and buttermilk to butter mixture, beating on low speed after addition until just combined. Reserve 2 cups of batter. Pour remaining batter into prepared pan. Combine chocolate syrup and reserved batter in small mixing bowl. Beat on low until combined. Pour chocolate batter over vanilla batter in pan. DO NOT MIX. Bake in a 350 degree oven about 50 minutes or until wooden toothpick insereted near center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack for 15 minutes. Drizzle Cake with SemiSweet Chocolate Icing.
