Triple Layer Cookie Bars (Pictured on Left) image

One of my favorite treats for the holidays. Cookie bars are quick and easy to make. Perfect to send with the kids to their teachers for a gift.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/2 cup(s) margarine or butter
1 1/2 cup(s) graham cracker crumbs
1 package(s) (7-oz) flaked coconut (2 2/3 cups)
1 can(s) (14-oz) eagle brand sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)
1 package(s) (12-oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup(s) creamy peanut butter

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees (325 for glass dish). In 13x9 inch baking dish, melt margarine in oven.
  • Sprinkle crumbs evenly over margarine, Top evenly with coconut then sweetened condensed milk. Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • In small saucepan, over low heat, melt chips with peanut butter. Spread evenly over hot coconut layer. Cool for 30 minutes. Chill thoroughly. Cut into bars. Store loosely covered at room temperature.
