TOAD IN HOLE ( BRITISH RECIPE ) image

It is called "toad in the hole" because it looks like a toad sticking its little head out of its hole...when the sausage cooks, it pokes its "head" out of the batter

Number Of Ingredients 6

8 links - pork sausage links
1 tablespoon(s) vegetable oil
2 cup(s) flour
4 - eggs
1 cup(s) milk
- salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Pour oil in bottom of baking dish.and arrange the sausages in a single layer. Bake for 10 min
  • In a medium bowl whisk together flour,eggs,milk until smooth.
  • Remove the sausage from oven.Ladle batter over sausages.Return to oven bake for 35 min.Or until the center is risen and brown. If the underside is a little soft Don't Worry as this normal. Enjoy
