- In large saucepan over medium heat, cook ground beef with onions, green pepper and garlic until beef is brown and juices evaporate. Add tomatoes and their liquid, tomato paste and remaining ingredients except beans. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 1-1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. Add beans, heat through.
