The Very Best Dumplings for Soup image

Have you ever had a soup that looks delicious, but then you bite into the dumplings and they're heavy, chewy and hard? I hate when that happens. Give these a try. These are truly the very best dumplings you'll ever have for any soup recipe... light, tender and delicious.

Number Of Ingredients 5

3/4 c flour
3 tb parmesan cheese, in the can
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
3/4 c milk or half & half

Steps:

  • Place all dry ingredients in a medium bowl and mix with a fork.
  • Add milk (or half & half) and mix until just combined. Mixing too much could make them tough.
  • Drop by half teaspoonfuls into gently simmering soup. Give a gentle stir to keep them from sticking. Once they are all in, continue to gently simmer for 5-10 minutes. Serve.
