I have to give kudos to Ree Drummond of the Food Network. I started with her recipe the added and tweaked a bit to suit my family's taste. I have taken these to several dinners and always come home with an empty container. They are better the second day, so make ahead for the best results.

Steps:
- 1. In a large skillet, cook bacon about halfway. Remove bacon from skillet and place on paper towels to drain.
- 2. Add onion and garlic to bacon grease in skillet. Sauté On medium heat till onion is soft, about 5 min.
- 3. Add beans and remaining ingredients to skillet. Cook about 5 min until flavors are blended.
- 4. Transfer to baking dish. A 9x13 works well. Lay bacon slices on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 and a half to 2 hours. Let sit about 5 minutes before serving.
