Texas Pickles image

I give these to friends for Christmas and they love them.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 quart(s) dill pickles
2 1/2 cup(s) sugar
1 ounce(s) tabasco
1 cup(s) red hots (candies)

Steps:

  • Drain pickles and discard juice. Cut into 1 inch chunks. Put pickles in a large jar.
  • Day 1: Add 1 1/4 cup sugar and red hots, pour over pickles, Stir and let sit on counter.
  • Day 2: Add 1/2 cup of remaining sugar, stir twice a day, cover and let sit on counter.
  • Day 3: Add remaining sugar and tabasco, stir then let sit on counter.
  • Day 4: At this point remove from large jar and put into clean smaller jars. Keep in refrigerator. ENJOY!
