Tea Cake Recipe image

This brings back memories of my grandma Allie making these for us as kids. I finally combined a couple of recipes that taste like Mama Allie's. This has been a hit with my business Special Katering. This week I'm shipping some to VA and CA!!! Hope you enjoy them!!!!

1 3/4 c sugar
2 eggs
3 c all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp ground nutmeg

  • 1. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth
  • 2. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla
  • 3. Combine flour, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg in a separate bowl.
  • 4. Stir into the creamed mixture, alternate with milk. Start with flour and end with flour.
  • 5. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
  • 6. Spoon 1/4 inch thick. Place cookies 1 1/2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheet.
