TANGERINE SALSA image

I love oranges and tangerines. This salsa was at a Christmas party and I loved it!!! I had to beg for the recipe and would like to share it with my friends.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 Tbsp olive oil
1 small red onion. finely chopped
6 ripe roma tomatoes, chopped
4 -5 tangerines, peeled, segmented, and chopped
1 Tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice
2 tsp hot sauce (optional)
salt to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oil in a medium sauce pan over medium heat. Cook onions until just caramelized.
  • 2. Add tomatoes and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.
  • 3. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • 4. In a large bowl, mix together cooked tomatoes and onions with the tangerines.
  • 5. Stir in the lime juice, hot sauce and salt.
  • 6. Serve with tortilla chips. Salsa can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
