- In a large saucepan, bring the wine, sugar and rosemary to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 20-30 minutes or until flavors are blended. , Discard rosemary sprigs. Add pears to saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 4-6 minutes or until tender. Remove pears with a slotted spoon; keep warm. , Bring liquid to a boil; cook and stir for 15-20 minutes or until reduced and amber-colored. Remove from the heat; stir in pears. Serve over ice cream if desired.
