Sunny Orange Lemonade image

this is a great refreshing drink to cool you off on a very hot day

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 1/2 c water, divided
1 c sugar
3/4 c lemon juice
3/4 c orange juice, fresh
2 tsp grated lemon peel
1 tsp grated orange peel
ice cubes
lemon slices

Steps:

  • 1. in a saucepan, bring 11/4 cups water and sugar to a boil. reduce heat. simmer for 10 minutes, cool.
  • 2. transfer to a pitcher, add lemon and orange juices and peels.
  • 3. cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.stir in the remaining water. serve over ice. garnish with lemon if desired.
