STUFFED MUSHROOMS WITH SAUSAGE image

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb sweet italian sausage, casing removed
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated romano cheese
1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
1 tbsp fresh chopped sage
1 tsp dried oregano
salt and pepper
2 lbs button or cremini mushrooms, stems removed

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees In a skillet over medium-high heat, heat the oil and saute the onions and garlic until translucent, about 5 minutes. While sauteing, thoroughly combine the sausage, mozzarella, romano, breadcrumbs, sage, oregano, salt and pepper. When onion and garlic are done, add them to the stuffing mixture and mix thoroughly. Fill the caps with stuffing and set on baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes, then check one, making sure sausage is no longer pink.
