Stuffed Green Chilies Burger image

The cumin and garlic in the meat add so much flavor to this burger. And the cilantro/lime/ranch dressing kicks-up the flavor too. The green chilies and french fried onions added some crunchiness to the mix making this a really delicious burger!

1 can(s) diced green chilies
1/2 c shreded monterey jack cheese
1/2 c shredded pepper jack cheese
1 c French fried onions
1 c ranch dressing
5 sprig(s) cilantro, fresh
3 small limes, juiced
1 1/2 lb ground beef
1 tsp cumin
1/2 Tbsp garlic powder
4 hamburger buns
1/2 tsp each salt and pepper
1/2 tsp chili powder

Steps:

  • 1. Heat grill to medium-high heat. Combine cilantro, lime juice, ranch dressing in a blender and blend until smooth. (chill until serving)
  • 2. Mix ground beef with cumin, garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper mix with large spoon but hands work best until well mixed.
  • 3. Form patties about 1/8 of thickness. Place patties onto parchment paper. Take about a tablespoon of each type cheese and put in the middle of 4 patties. Take plain patty and carefully top cheese patty. Gently press patties edges together until all side are closed with no cheese showing.
  • 4. Place patty on a grill and cook on each side for 5 min or desired cook temp or cooks preference. Toast bun on the grill for 2-3 min. Remove dressing from the refrigerator. Build the burger by adding the stuffed burger to bottom bun. Add a tablespoon of diced green chilies to patty on top of green chilies add the desired amount of the french fried onions, Dress the top bun with cilantro lime ranch dressing. Cut gently with a sharp knife to show the stuffed center guest will enjoy it!
