Steak Merlot image

Easy Prep and quick week night meal. Garlic mashed potato's goes well with this.

Number Of Ingredients 9

4 - chop steaks
3/4 bottle(s) merlot wine
1 - sweet onion i.e. maui, walla walla, vidallia
1 pound(s) mushrooms, sliced any variety you choose
3 tablespoon(s) olive oil
1/2 teaspoon(s) granulated garlic
- salt and pepper
1 cup(s) beef stock, unsalted
1 tablespoon(s) corn starch

Steps:

  • Season Chop Steaks with salt, pepper, and Granulated Garlic
  • Heat large skillet add Olive Oil, Quick Sear Seasoned Chop Steaks on both sides and remove from skillet
  • Add onion, mushrooms, saute 5 minutes on medium heat.
  • Return steaks to skillet, add enough Merlot to cover steaks, mushrooms and onions
  • Simmer 40 minutes
  • Add beef stock, return to simmer 5 minutes
  • make a corn starch slurry with corn starch and water to thicken gravy, add to desired thickness
