Spicy Chili Dipping Sauce image

If you like sweet & spicy, you will love this tasty sauce. I made this sauce for dipping my Coconut Chicken Strips...everyone just loves it...why buy when you can make your own?... Enjoy!

3/4 c sugar
1/2 c rice vinegar
1/4 c water
1 Tbsp red pepper flakes
1 Tbsp minced garlic
1 Tbsp siracha sauce - or to taste
1 Tbsp corn starch
1 Tbsp water
1/2 Tbsp fish sauce or 1 tsp salt

Steps:

  • 1. Over medium high heat, in a small sauce pan, add sugar,vinegar and water and bring to a boil, while stirring, until the sugar is dissolved. Add the finely minced garlic, Sriracha and crushed red pepper. Let the sauce simmer for a few minutes until it slightly thickens. Dissolve 1 tablespoon of corn starch with 1 tablespoon of water.
  • 2. Bring the sauce to a rapid boil and whisk in the slurry, stirring until it thickens. Set aside to cool.
  • 3. Enjoy! It's yummy!
