Spicy Cajun Cabbage image

This reminds me of the way that my mother made cabbage.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 bunch green onions, chopped
1 large head of cabbage, chopped
10 slice bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
1 c water
2 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp accent
1 tsp whole celery seed
1 tsp creole seasoning
1 tsp black pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Cook bacon crisp. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
  • 2. Cook chopped green onions in the bacon grease for 4 minutes. Add cabbage and water. Cook on medium heat for 15 minutes.
  • 3. Mix all spices in a small bowl. Add spice mixture to cabbage and cook for 15 more minutes or until desired doneness.
  • 4. Crumble bacon on top before serving.
