SPAGHETTI WITH WHITE CLAM SAUCE image

Yield 5-6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
3 cans (6 1/2 ounces each) chopped clams
1 teaspoon oregano leaves
1 teaspoon dried basil (or 1 tablespoon fresh)
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1/2-3/4 cups chopped parsley
1/3 cup white wine
1 pound spaghetti or linguine

Steps:

  • Cook spaghetti/linguine. In a 2-quart pan over medium-low heat, melt butter in olive oil. Add garlic and cook until golden; do not let garlic burn. Drain the juice from 2 of the cans into butter mixture. Add oregano, basil, red pepper, parsley and wine to pan; simmer for 5 minutes. Add drained claims and heat through. Toss clam sauce with spaghetti/linguine.
