Steps:
- 1. Put lentils in sauce pan, covering them with water about 1/2 inch above the lentils. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to simmer. 2. Once lentils are tender, add tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, oregano, black pepper, basil, red pepper, garlic and oil. Stir to combine and reduce heat to simmer. 3. Cook for at least one hour, stirring occasionally to keep ingredients mixed.
