Steps:
- Slice the onion in rings, and add to all the other ingredients in a medium sauce pan. Include the liquid from the canned beans.
- Cover and simmer on a low heat for about 45 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld and makes the canned beans taste fresh out of the garden. Strain the liquid and serve.
