Sour Cream Loaf image

This is an easy, basic, pound cake. The recipe makes 2-3 loaves depending on the size of your pan. My handwritten recipe has the name Debbie Lutz on it but I don't know who that is so I'm not sure where I got this recipe.

1 pt sour cream
2 c sugar
1/2 lb butter or margarine (i use butter)
4 eggs
3 c flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp vanilla (do not use imitation, ever!)
2 tsp almond extract
1 pinch sugar
1 pinch cinnamon

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat over to 325 degrees
  • 2. Grease 2 or 3 loaf pans
  • 3. Cream together sugar and butter until fluffy
  • 4. Mix dry ingredients together in separate bowl.
  • 5. Add vanilla, almond and sour cream to butter mixture. Mix until well combined
  • 6. Add flour mixture in gradually, mixing well after each addition.
  • 7. Pour into greased loaf pans.
  • 8. Sprinkle tops with cinnamon and sugar.
  • 9. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour until pick comes out clean.
  • 10. Let cool on wire rack before removing from pans.
