Smothered Hamburger Steak image

Number Of Ingredients 11

1.5 pound ground beef
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1 onion, small, thinly sliced
1 can French Onion Soup-undiluted
1 package brown gravy mix
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup water

Steps:

  • Crumble beef into large bowl and sprinkle with garlic pwd., onion pwd., salt, pepper and ground mustard. Blend gently. Divide into 4 equal parts and form patties.
  • Heat cast iron skillet over med/high heat. Place steaks into skillet and allow to cook without touching them for about 4 minutes. Flip them over for an additional 4 minutes.(you want a nice dark color on them) Remove steaks from pan and allow them to rest on paper towels.
