Slow Cooker Ground Beef Stew image

I love stews. I make them all the time in many different ways. This is a different way to use ground beef for a nice hearty winter meal. I don't like a lot of prep on busy days, so I love that I don't have to pre-cook the ground beef and using little baby potatoes that I don't need to cut. I prefer to serve my stews with cornbread or biscuits.

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 pound(s) lean ground beef(90/10 works great)
2 pound(s) baby potatoes
1 bag(s) frozen carrots
4 stalk(s) celery, chopped
1 large onion, minced
1 cup(s) beef broth
6 ounce(s) can of tomato paste
1 teaspoon(s) dried thyme
2 clove(s) garlic, minced or pressed
1 teaspoon(s) black pepper
2 teaspoon(s) sea salt
1 tablespoon(s) worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon(s) kitchen bouquet gravy sauce
2 bay leaves

Steps:

  • Place potatoes in slow cooker, followed by celery, frozen carrots, and onion. Break up raw ground beef with hands into smaller pieces on top of veggies. Doesn't need to be super small pieces. It will break up a bit more when you stir in the next ingredients.
  • In a mixing bowl, mix together broth, tomato paste, thyme, garlic, worcestershire sauce, Kitchen Bouquet, pepper, and salt.
  • Pour mixture on top of beef and veggies. Stir gently. Press bay leaves into stew mixture.
  • Set for 6-8 hours. Serve as is with some corn bread or biscuits.
