1/2 lb. sliced fresh mushrooms
2 onions, cut into wedges
2 stalks celery, sliced
1 green pepper, cut into strips
1/2 cup baby carrots, cut lengthwise in half
4 cloves garlic, minced
12 small skinless chicken drumsticks (2-3/4 lb.)
1/2 cup fat-free reduced-sodium chicken broth
1/4 cup KRAFT Fat Free Zesty Italian Dressing
2 Tbsp. MINUTE Tapioca
2 tsp. dried Italian seasoning
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
1 jar (16 oz.) TACO BELLĀ® Thick & Chunky Mild Salsa
1/4 cup tomato paste

Steps:

  • Combine vegetables and garlic in slow cooker sprayed with cooking spray; top with chicken.
  • Mix broth, dressing, tapioca and seasonings until blended; pour over chicken. Cover with lid.
  • Cook on LOW 6 to 7 hours (or on HIGH 3 to 3-1/2 hours).
  • Use tongs to remove chicken from slow cooker, reserving vegetable mixture in slow cooker. Add salsa and tomato paste to ingredients in slow cooker; mix well. Return chicken to slow cooker; spoon sauce over chicken. Cook, covered, on HIGH 15 min. or until heated through.
