Sloppy Joe Casserole image

Take ordinary sloppy joes and make it into a savory casserole with this Sloppy Joe Casserole. Made with ground beef, onion, green peppers, tomato sauce and crescent dough, this sloppy joe casserole is the ultimate comfort food for a cool autumn night.

1-1/2 lb. lean ground beef
1 cup chopped onions
1 cup chopped green peppers
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1/2 cup HEINZ Tomato Ketchup
2 Tbsp. LEA & PERRINS Worcestershire Sauce
1 can (8 oz.) refrigerated crescent dough sheet
2 tsp. sesame seed

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°F.
  • Brown beef with onions, peppers and garlic powder in large nonstick skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally; drain. Return beef mixture to skillet. Add tomato sauce, ketchup and Worcestershire sauce; mix well.
  • Spoon into 4-qt. casserole sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Unroll crescent sheet; place over ground beef mixture, stretching dough as necessary to completely cover beef mixture. Spray lightly with additional cooking spray; sprinkle with sesame seed.
  • Bake 18 to 20 min. or until golden brown.
