Slice & Bake Chocolate Chip Cookies image

My boyfriend had a rat terrier named Petey and everytime I would make these cookies and put some in the oven to bake he would sit right at the oven door until they were done. He would not do that for store bought mixes. I miss that dog.

Number Of Ingredients 10

3 c plus 6 tbsp unsifted flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 c margarine
1 c plus 2 tbsp sugar
1 c plus 2tbsp brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
3 eggs
3 c chocolate chips
1 1/2 c chopped nuts

Steps:

  • 1. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. In a large bowl combine margarine, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla; beat until creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add flour mixture; mix well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Divide dough into quarters. On waxed paper shape each quarter into a 9" roll. Roll in the waxed paper. Refrigerate up to 1 week or freeze up to 8 weeks. To bake, preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cut each roll into 1" slices. Cut each slice into 4 pieces. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake 8 to 10 minutes. Total recipe makes 12 dozen.
