Simple Split Pea Soup for the Crock Pot image

This easy and flavorful split pea soup has been a favorite for years with my family. Even the little kids like it! It freezes beautifully. It may seperate on standing or refridgerating, but just give a good stir and will come right back together.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 c split peas, rinsed
2 qt water
2 medium onions, chopped
2 medium carrots, chopped
8 oz ham, chopped
2 large vegetable bullion cubes
1 tsp salt
1/4 to 1/2 tsp pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Combine all ingredients in a 4-6 quart crockpot/slow cooker.
  • 2. Cover and cook on low 8 hours
  • 3. Puree' to desired smoothness in batches in blender or use an imersion wand to blend to taste.
