Sicilian Strawberry Granita image

This makes a delicious granita, can also be made with lemon juice for a lemon granita.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 quart(s) water
3 cup(s) strawberries, chopped
juice from 1 lemon
1 cup(s) castor sugar

Steps:

  • Put 1/2 of strawberries and water into a blender and blend until pureed.
  • Add the rest of the strawberries and water, sugar, and lemon juice and blend until creamy and smooth.
  • Transfer mixture to chilled ice cream bucket. Churn the ingredients for approx. 30 minutes or until mixture is creamy and icy.
  • Best to eat right away but can be kept in the freezer for two days.
