SHRIMP SPREAD image

My old boss from the frame shop would bring this to all of our work parties. All of us girls just loved it! I like to use a bunch of green onions instead of a small onion. It tastes really good, and that's how I prefer it, but it's still good the original way too! Give it a try! Enjoy!

Number Of Ingredients 4

8 ounce(s) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup(s) mayonnaise
1 small onion, chopped fine
2 can(s) shrimp. drained

Steps:

  • This seemed strange to me the first time I did this, but it works!
  • Soak the shrimp in ice water for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • While the shrimp are soaking, cream the mayo and cream cheese together. I use my mixer to get it nice and smooth. Mix in the onion.
  • Drain the water off of the shrimp, and squeeze out excess water. I do this in my hands. Then gently shred the shrimp, and mix into the cream cheese and mayo.
  • Chill! Spread on your favorite crackers!
  • Enjoy! Very addictive!
