Shrimp Sauteed with Garlic and Wine image

This is a recipe that was demonstrated at the Pensacola Seafood Festival. I tried my best to remember the ingredients and amounts. Got a sample and it was delish! Cook time is going to depend on if you have gas or electric...gas is quicker and closer to the 15. Electric may take you 17 or 18 minutes. Just watch the color and shape of the shrimp....need to look like a c, not an o.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 pound(s) large fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tablespoon(s) all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon(s) shallots, minced
1 clove(s) garlic, minced
1/4 cup(s) olive oil
1/4 cup(s) chablis or other dry white wine
2 tablespoon(s) fresh lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon(s) salt
2 tablespoon(s) butter
2 tablespoon(s) fresh parsley, minced
lemon slices, to garnish

Steps:

  • Rinse the shrimp and pat dry. Dredge in the flour.
  • Saute shrimp, shallots, and garlic in olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat just until vegetables are tender (shrimp will not be done).
  • Stir in wine, lemon juice, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Cook, stirring constantly until the shrimp turns pink and the liquid is reduced by half.
  • Remove from the heat and stir in the butter. Sprinkle with parsley and enjoy!
