Steps:
- 1. In a dutch oven, brown sausage, drain. Add chopped onion. Cook 5 minutes. 2. Add red pepper, jalepeno, and garlic. Cook 5 minutes. 3. Add thyme, red pepper, salt, pepper, tomatoes and paste. 4. Pour in broth or water and butter; bring to a boil. Add rice and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes. Add shrimp and cook an additional 3-5 minutes. 5. Let stand, covered, for 5 minutes.
