Shepards Pie image

This is one of the few things that I can make that everyone likes :) Instead of the jar of Gravy you can make your own. I have never beena gravy maker myself so, I use a dry mix in a packet that is imported from England and available at Pulix. It really is the bast way to make it, but not always available.

HERES WHAT YOU NEED:
1-2 lb ground beef
1 medium onion chopped
1 pkg frozen vegatable mix
18 oz package of schredded sharp chedder cheese
1 jar(s) beef gravy
5 lb potatoes

Steps:

  • 1. Brown the ground beef and onions in a skillet. Add 2 cups of gravy (or use the Shepard's pie mix as directed). Let simmer for 5 minutes uncovered.
  • 2. Cook potatoes until they fall off the fork and mash with Salt, Pepper, milk and butter.
  • 3. Cook the vegetables as directed on the packet, I like to use the Steam fresh mixes.
  • 4. in a 9 x 13 Casserole Dish layer the ground beef mixture, then the vegetables and mashed potatoes, then Cheddar Cheese, and salt and pepper. Bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes until the cheese has melted and started to turn brown a little.
