i make this in the winter for my family. it freezes great so i make a bunch put it in the tins and freeze. this way when my family is hungry and i am not home to cook they can just take one out heat it up and poof toasty warm home cooking.

Number Of Ingredients 15

2 pound(s) italian mild sausage ground and cooked(drain but save drippings)
8 large red potatoes cubed thick
2 package(s) swanson chicken flavoring packs
2 1/2 cup(s) bisquick
1/3 cup(s) milk
1/2 cup(s) milk
1/4 cup(s) parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon(s) minced garlic
1 tablespoon(s) minced onion
1 tablespoon(s) parsley flakes
1 tablespoon(s) bacon bits
1/2 teaspoon(s) of each of the following, black pepper,italian seasoning,sage,basil, oregano,salt,magic spice for poultry,garlic powder, onion powder
1/2 cup(s) flour
1/2 cup(s) water
1/4 cup(s) water

Steps:

  • step one: in large saucepan cook up sausage and drain well but save dripping for gravy, cook potatoes till tender. drain water. pour over sausage and stir together.
  • Step Two: IN med saucepan bring to boil the drippings and 1/2 cup milk and 12 cup water.
  • Step three: mix flour and water together till smooth. adding seasonings starting with the black pepper.mix well to blend and knock out lumps. slowly add to water and drippings stirring constantly. reduce heat to low and continue stirring till thick. (too thick add just a little water) pour over sausage mixture.
  • now make biscuits according to the box. add the minced garlic,onion,cheese and bacon bits.
  • pour sausage/potato mix into baking dish or individual tins top by dropping biscuits by spoonfuls till covered. bake at 350 for one hour till biscuits are done and golden brown and gravy is bubbly
