SAUSAGE AND FRUIT STUFFING image

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 lb bulk sausage meat
1/4 cup butter
1 lge onion,chopped
1&1/2 cups celery, chopped
2 apples, chopped
1 loaf of bread, in crumbs
2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
2 tsp thyme, sage, marjoram
2 cups dried fruit
2 cups pecans, chopped

Steps:

  • Brown sausage meat in a large pot. Add butter, onion, celery and apples and cook gently. Mix in half the bread crumbs and the seasonings and cook until golden golden. Stir in fruit and the rest of the bread crumbs. Cool and use to stuff a 12- to 15-lb turkey.
