I found this hand-written recipe in my mom's recipe file. I'm guessing it is either of German or Polish origin, based on the ingredients. Does this sound familiar to anyone out there? I don't recall having this as a child growing up, but it sounds good. Apparently you can make the meat & rice into meatballs if that is your preference. Will copy just as the original recipe reads.

Steps:
- Salt & pepper the meat and mix real good. Put half the kraut in the bottom of roaster pan, spread meat over kraut. Sprinkle rice over meat & add brown sugar, to taste, then add rest of kraut. Pour tomatoes over the top and sprinkle with more brown sugar.
- Bake at 350^ (amount of bake time not listed) uncovered, until it bubbles real good & rice is done (I guessed at 45 minutes), then lower heat to 250^ & cover until serving time.
