Rich 'n Creamy Hot Chocolate image

A hot chocolate recipe that is heartwarming, creamy, and an all-time favorite beverage made with Land O Lakes® Half & Half.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 cup real semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/8 teaspoon salt
5 1/2 cups milk
2 cups (1 pint) Land O Lakes® Half & Half
2 teaspoons vanilla
Land O Lakes® Aerosol Whipped Light Cream, if desired

Steps:

  • Melt chocolate chips, stirring constantly, in 3-quart saucepan over low heat. Stir in sugar, water and salt.
  • Increase heat to medium. Cook, whisking constantly, until mixture comes to a full boil. Continue cooking 2 minutes, stirring constantly .
  • Add milk and half & half; cook until heated through. (DO NOT BOIL.) Add vanilla.
  • Remove from heat; beat with wire whisk until frothy.
  • Pour into mugs. Serve with whipped cream.
