Red Pepper Jelly Turkey Burgers image

Ground turkey breast is a flavorful and healthy alternative to ground beef. If you have the time to fire up the grill, grilling the patties will enhance their flavor. From Oxmoor House.

1 lb ground turkey breast
1/3 cup ketchup
1/4 cup quick-cooking oats
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
2 garlic cloves, minced
cooking spray
4 (1 5/8 ounce) light whole wheat hamburger buns
1/4 cup tub-style light cream cheese
1/4 cup red pepper jelly
16 thin slices cucumbers
1/4 cup alfalfa sprout

Steps:

  • Combine first 7 ingredients in a large bowl. Divide turkey mixture into 4 equal portions, shaping each into a 1/2-inch-thick patty.
  • Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat; coat pan with cooking spray. Add turkey patties; cook 6 minutes on each side or until done.
  • Place patties on bottom halves of buns. Top each with 1 tablespoon each of cream cheese and jelly, 4 cucumber slices, and 1 tablespoon alfalfa sprouts. Top with top halves of buns.
