I have made this several times and its always a hit. I don't always have currants and I don't miss them in the final dish. The directions are for stove top but I like it better in a rice cooker. I serve this with lemon chicken and a salad. Enjoy!

Steps:
- Bring water to a boil.
- Add butter, rice, cumin, lemon zest, raisins, currants.
- Bring back to a full boil. Cover and reduce heat to a simmer. Simmer for 20 minutes.
- Remove from heat and add chives. Fluff with fork. Put on serving platter. Sprinkle with almonds. Serve and enjoy.
