Poppy Seed Bread image

This recipe comes from the High School Cookbook. I have used a lot of these and they are really good.

Number Of Ingredients 16

3 cup(s) all purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1 1/2 teaspoon(s) baking soda
1 1/2 cup(s) milk
1 1/8 cup(s) cooking oil
2 1/2 cup(s) sugar
1 1/2 tablespoon(s) poppy seeds
1 1/2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoon(s) almond extract
1 1/2 teaspoon(s) butter extract
GLAZE
1/2 teaspoon(s) butter flavoring
1/2 teaspoon(s) almond extract
1/2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
1/4 cup(s) orange juice, fresh
3/4 cup(s) sugar

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and pour into lightly oiled loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Prepare glaze by mixing butter flavoring, almond flavoring, vanilla, orange juice and sugar. Pour over warm bread. Remove from pans when cool, cut and serve.
