Plum-Pear Cobbler image

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 (16 1/2-ounce) can purple plums in heavy syrup
1 package Betty Crocker SuperMoist white (vanilla) cake mix
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
2 eggs
4 pears, peeled and sliced (4 cups)
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • 1- Heat oven to 375°. Grease bottom only of rectangular pan, 13 x 9 x 2 inches, with shortening. Drain plums, reserving syrup. Remove pits from plums.2- Mix cake mix, milk, butter and eggs with spoon until moistened (batter will be slightly lumpy). Spread evenly in pan.3- Mix plums (with syrup), pears, lemon peel, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon and the nutmeg in large bowl pour over batter.4- Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until cake springs back when touched lightly in center.5- Mix sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon sprinkle over baked cobbler. Serve warm. Store covered in refrigerator.High Altitude (3500 to 6500 feet): Heat oven to 400°.
