Picnic Lemonade image

Super refreshing and cooling for a hot summer day. Perfect to keep on hand for an afternoon picnic or to cool off after yard work. We used the wildflower honey and loved it. The honey adds an aromatic, flowery scent. It gives this lemonade such a fresh taste. But, if you don't have honey on hand, it would be just as refreshing...

Number Of Ingredients 4

12 lemons; squeezed
3 quarts chilled spring water
1 1/4 cups sugar or 1 cup wildflower honey or 1 cup honeysuckle syrup
sprigs of fresh mint or lemon balm for garnish

Steps:

  • 1. Heat the lemon juice and sugar (or honey) over medium heat in a saucepan until the sugar/honey completely dissolves. Set aside to cool slightly.
  • 2. In a gallon container, stir together the lemon mixture with the spring water.
  • 3. Fill glasses with ice. Add a sprig of mint or lemon balm and pour in the lemonade.
