Pennsylvania Dutch Green Beans image

Quick and yummy.

Number Of Ingredients 9

3 slice bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 small onion, sliced
1 can(s) water chestnuts, sliced
1 1-lb can(s) cut green beans
2 tsp cornstarch
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp dry mustard
1 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp vinegar

Steps:

  • 1. Brown onion and water chestnuts slightly in hot bacon fat.
  • 2. Drain beans, saving 1/2 cup liquid.
  • 3. Mix liquid with remaining ingredients and add to onion in skillet.
  • 4. Cook, stirring until mixture boils.
  • 5. Add beans and heat thoroughly.
  • 6. Serve garnished with crumbled bacon.
