Pear Honey image

Mama had a lot of pear on her tree this year and I was looking for something different to make when I came across this recipe from Paula Deen. I did change it up some, she doesn't puree her pears and I cooked it longer.

Number Of Ingredients 4

16 c peel, cored and diced pears
1 Tbsp lemon juice
10 c sugar
1(20oz.) can(s) crushed pineapple

Steps:

  • 1. Put pears and pineapple in blender or food processor and puree. Put into large pot add lemon juice and sugar. When it begins to boil turn heat down and cook 1 hour or until desired thickness, stirring occasionally (Paula Deen cooks her for 30 minutes.)Pour into hot jars and seal.
