Peanut Butter/Mounds candy image

If you like peanut butter, and coconut crean candy then this recipe is for you. Out of one mix you will get two different candy, diped in chocolate. One is like a peanut butter cup, the other is like a mounds bar. This recipe is so easy to make, and you get a lot of candy from one mix.I found this resipe years ago and I use it a lot.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 pound(s) confectioners sugar
1/4 pound(s) butter softened
1 package(s) ( 8 oz ) cream cheese softened
2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
12 ounce(s) peanut butter
1 pound(s) flaked coconut
4 cup(s) semi-sweet chocolate
2 tablespoon(s) shortening

Steps:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, butter, cream cheese, and vanilla. Divide the batter in half and place each half of the batter in a bowl of it's own. Stir peanut butter into one bowl of batter and the coconut into the other.
  • Using your hands mold the dough into a ball or squars ( or mold of you choice ) and arrange on a baking sheet. Place in the freezer until harden.
  • When the candy has set, melt the chocolate chips and shortening in the top of a double boiler. Dip the candy into the chocolate until covered. Place the candy on waxed paper and return to the freezer to harden. After the chocolate has hardened the candy can be kept in the refrigerator until used.
