Number Of Ingredients 14

FILLING
1/4 pound(s) 1 stick butter
1 1/2 cup(s) sugar
2 tablespoon(s) flour
- pinch of salt
8 - ripe peaches, peeled and thinly sliced
1/2 cup(s) water or brandy
CRUST
4 tablespoon(s) 1/2 stick butter
1/2 cup(s) sugar
1 cup(s) flour
1 teaspoon(s) baking powder
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1/2 cup(s) milk or fruit juice

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  • To prepare the filling, melt the butter in a medium size saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the sugar, flour, and salt mix well.
  • Add the peaches and the water. Stir and heat thoroughly, about 5 minutes.
  • Pour into a greased, deep 9 by 9 inch casserole dish and set aside.
  • To prepare crust, in a medium sized mixing bowl cream the butter with the sugar, then add the flour, baking powder, salt, and milk or juice.
  • Pour the batter over the peaches and bake for 1 hour or until golden brown.
